Capitol Christmas Tree

Idaho is the proud home of the 2017 Capitol Christmas Tree which will grace the lawn of the Capitol throughout the holiday season.

On November 14 from 9:00-11:00am Alturas International Academy has the privilege to host the Capitol Christmas Tree on its journey to Washington, DC.

The Caribou-Targhee National Forest, Mayor of Idaho Falls, and Regional Chamber of Commerce, along with a host of other Idaho Falls community groups, will welcome the tree in a festive way. Food, music, and fun will help us send the tree on its way in style.  There will be booths for the children to do art, eat cookies, drink hot chocolate, have a picture with Santa and Smoky the Bear, and sign the banner for the US Capitol Christmas Tree.  In the spirit of giving in this holiday season, please bring or have your child bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Community Food Basket.  Each student will be given an ornament as a keepsake for this great event!  This is a public event and all are welcome to attend.
